Battlefield: Hardline the game preview

Battlefield Hardline is launching some time this year, but how much you know about it? Not much except for some pretty amazing looking gameplay footage. Fret not. I am here to tell you more about it.

Introduction

If anything, buying another Battlefield game after the disastrous launch of Battlefield 4 would be the last thing on your mind right now. EA, the developers behind Battlefield Hardline, should have given this game a bit more time, but they seem quite adamant on releasing Hardline in 2014. The latent ignorance for the community is quite baffling to say the least. They should seriously consider giving this franchise a break and rebooting some for their older franchises. Games like Medal of Honor and Dead Space would be really welcome at this point of time, but it's all about shareholders and money. They must do whatever it takes to maximize earning per share of the shareholders. And to do that, they must maximize the potential of every gaming franchise. In doing that, however, they have sabotaged countless franchises. The infuriating part is, they never admit that they are party in guilty. Well played EA, but those puppy eyes aren't going to work anymore as we all know what you are after – money and more money is all that matters to you.

Anyways, let's cut to the chase and talk more about this game -

The regard for PC

Hate EA as much as you want to, but I admire them for the fact that most of their games are well-optimized for PC. They run like a breeze on even a low-end rig. It's something you can't say for any other major gaming company like Ubisoft. Props to them for proper attention to PC. That maybe the reason why all their PC games do every well.

Yearly installments

Battlefield 3 launched back in 2011. Then the franchise was given a 1 year break. After the break, though, it seems that they have annualized the franchise. Battlefield 4 launched in 2013 and now they are launching another Battlefield game in 2014. They are never going to admit it that they have intentions to annualize it, but actions speak volumes. But I do hope that they ponder over their decision again, otherwise they are going to be doing themselves a huge disservice.

More like a DLC than a full game

To be honest, Battlefield Hardline feels more like a DLC than a full-fledged game. You may ask why do I feel so? Well, it's not me who is saying that. Just head on over to their official forums to see how much flake and heat they are getting for Battlefield Harldine. On being asked why the game looks like Battlefield 4 a lot, they simply replied, because it's a Battlefield game.

Not developed by Dice

You could be mistaken for thinking that it's Dice who is developing this game, but this time around, EA is taking the risk by involving another developer to make a Battlefield game for them. We all know that Dice are masters when it comes to Battlefield games, but they are giving another studio a chance to showcase their skills. Only time would tell if this game would even be half as good as other Battlefield games, but we know for a fact that this game is going to look extraordinarily pretty.
