Let us go through this guide for installing iOS 8 which has been made as a beta version aiming for developers. This developer mode of iOS 8 can be straight away downloaded from Apple as soon as you pay the developer fee of $99. If you are not a developer, our advise for you is to remain calm until the official release of iOS 8, as this beta version will be mostly affected by errors and bugs.

How to download iOS 8 beta 1

Prerequisites:

For downloading iOS 8 as a developer, first you need to be registered with IMZDL, which is a well-known source of betas for iOS and OS X.

Make sure you are having the latest version of iTunes with you. For ensuring the same you can check for updates within the app tray or just visit the App store which will let you know if any new updates are available.

Finally you need to save all your data by taking a backup or switching to any other storage media.

Note: Follow the guide only if your device is iOS 8 beta compatible. For ensuring the same you can find your device from the following list of iOS devices that are compatible with iOS 8 beta:

iPhone: 5S, 5C, 5 & 4S

iPad: iPad 2, 3 & 4, iPad Air, mini & iPad retina mini.

iPod touch (5th generation)

Once you made sure about all the prerequisites given above and if your device name is listed above, then it's time to get on to the iOS 8 beta installation guide.

Warning: Follow the guide at your own responsibility, we take no liability for any software bugs or errors caused due to this installation.

Step 1: If you have already paid the annual developer fee of $99, you will now be able to log in to the Apple developer page using the appropriate log in details.

Step 2: Once you are in, you will be able to download the file 'iOS 8 beta' from there. Make sure you download the file for your device model. IMZDL will now show up your downloaded file.

Step 3: The downloaded file will be in .zip format. You will need to extract it in Apple's .ipsw file format using any appropriate software.

Step 4: Now connect your iOS device for installing the new iOS 8 beta using your device's orginal usb cable.

Step 5: Now go to your updated iTunes and select your device and switch to the summary tab. From there choose the option 'Restore your iPhone' by holding Option key on your Mac ( Shift key for users using Windows).

Step 6: Now follow the onscreen instruction and select the extracted file which will start the installation process on to your device.

Now wait for few minutes until your device reboots with the new iOS 8 within it. Now it will show the welcome screen.

Finally you need to install slider by swiping on the slide. That's it, your device is now loaded with iOS 8 beta.

You can also download iOS 8 beta 1 for non-developer Apple devices though we would not recommend doing it because this is actually due to a security flaw in this beta version and was not actually purposefully released as such.
