How to find IMEI number of the lost iPhone using iTunes

Are you searching for the IMEI number of your lost iPhone, to report to police or your service provider? Here are the simple steps to find the IMEI number from iTunes.

My wife recently lost her iPhone and we realized we never noted down the IMEI number of the phone, which is required to file a police complaint and also to track the phone with the help of service provider. The "Find my iPhone" feature of iPhone doesn't require IMEI number but that was not an option for us since we didn't have internet enabled on the phone. To use the "Find my iPhone" feature, the phone must be connected to internet and find phone feature should be already enabled on the phone.

The IMEI number can be obtained by dialing *#06# on the iPhone, but we never did it before we lost the phone. Also, the same can be found on the original box of the phone, but we destroyed that during our recent house shifting.

After some research and trials, I figured out how to find the IMEI number of iPhone without the phone in hand. You can use iTunes to find the IMEI number and serial number of the phones.
