Facebook game: Gangs of Boomtown review, hints, tips and gameplay

Gangs of Boomtown has been made by Digital Chocolate, the same company which created Zombie Lane and New in Town. This game has been launched exclusively for Google+ for a period of 30 days.

The story line of Gangs of Boomtown is action oriented and will stimulate your combat passion. Every time you win the duel you will get the chance to collect the coins on the loser. You use this money to help build back the village and fight to bring back the daughter of a respected elder of the village. The graphics have been imitated to the Wild West with an effort to mimic the harshness of the Wild West by showing human suffering and natural disasters. In Gangs of Boomtown you cannot expect to become a hero by default; waiting for gifts from friends or thinking that as time progresses you will get the powers or weapons will be a big mistake. You need to buy all the essentials to come to some level, nothing will be available for you to pick up. For this you need to buy weapons for which you will be required to spend money. After you have some weapons you need to challenge someone to duel. Note that even those marked with "difficulty: easy" cannot be defeated in the initial stages itself, you need to power yourself up by weapons and then only think about challenging someone.

Though you will see a request for to ask friends to give you gifts to help you upgrade your weapon house but when your friend will see you request, the options under the heading will show only "now play the game" and nowhere will you find any option to "send" the gift. This is obviously a glitch and can be expected to be corrected soon but right now all the only help you can take from your friend is receive a 3-energy pack and visiting your friend 5 times a day to help him build or clean.

There are various quests in the game. To level up you need to complete more than one quest, as you level up you get an energy refill. It can take you up to 100 minutes to complete one third of the quest. Moreover, construction work like clearing the grass, removing the burnt houses and like takes too much time.

There is so much energy consumption in the game that you are forced to adapt to higher skill levels and advanced weapons. Higher skill levels enable you to dodge attacks from bullets, wolf and you capability to give a headshot, while advanced weapons inflict more damage on every shot. Sometimes you will find that when you skill increases it doubles the power of your weapons but this happens once in a while totally depending on your luck. The energy requirements and consumption ratio is so unbalanced that you find it difficult to proceed in the game without feeling the need to click the "pay" button to go on proceeding in the game.
