Google plus game Millionaire city is a closely related similar game to Playfish's My Empire. Though a city building game sounds awkward for Facebook but a strategy based game on this concept is a welcome change from the clickfest sims and virtual pet games.
Millionaire-City
The gameplay is not at all different from Sim City but the goals are well defined in Millionaire City rather than the goals of Sim City. The Homepage of Millionaire City too looks more like Homepage of Sim City. The main aim of the game is too start with very less and build up the city into a complete metropolis while also working hard to make your development firm business a multi-dollar business affair.

The main work is however not city building but earning money by renting your properties. Once you are out of the tutorial you start construction of building. Now you can rent these businesses to various types of tenants. As is common with these types of renting, shorter leases will fetch you better revenue and longer leases will be easier to manage. If you do not collect the rent in a timely manner then you tenants leave your properties and that costs you money. The only other way to earn money in Millionaire City is to build businesses as you level up. Businesses generate money every few minutes depending upon the housing accommodations located in your business's area of influence. This means that you have to micro-manage the city layout to keep houses as close as possible to your business.
You also boost your rent by putting in decorations and utilities on your houses like putting up sheds, landscaping etc. As your earnings are from various different sources management will play an important factor for making it big in the game.

When you just enter the game you find a very detailed system in place to guide you closely to the system to city building but as you progress and come to higher levels your mission requirements become much broader. While in the start you will be asked to do a specific task to level up, in the higher levels you are just given a particular hint about developing your city but you will have the option to attain that aim through a multitude of ways. At higher levels you will be just asked to raise the value of your business to a particular value and you can choose from various option to accomplish the task.

Beyond city building there are some social features as well which open up only after a certain level in the game. For example you can visit your friend's property to level up as well as make some investments in your friend's property. When the price of the property rises you get your returns after some interval of time. This is a nice change from the limited social integrations in the previous similar games where social gaming was limited to giving gifts to your friends.
