I shall provide the specifications and features of this Lenovo laptop along with it's review.Specifications of Lenovo S210 Touch
Review of Lenovo S210 Touch
Ergonomics and build
Lenovo laptops have always been known for their better ergonomics and the new Lenovo S210 Touch is no different. Despite being small, this 11-inch screen laptop is pretty powerful and provides a compact touch-pad experience to the users. This laptop has a good responsive touchscreen. The overall build of this device is strong and consists of a pretty solid hinge.Design
The laptop design cannot be termed as bulky, due to smart handling of the battery area. The battery compartment of this device gets thrusted outwards when the laptop is kept open. However, this battery area isn't visible when the laptop lid is closed. Thus, it is smartly designed by providing a good battery compartment without making the laptop bulky. In fact, this laptop (with a weight of 1.5 kg) is one of the lightest ones in the budget category.Battery life
This laptop provides a battery life of about 114 minutes, which cannot be termed as great for a new device. May be Lenovo could have opted for a Haswell CPU or SSD one for better battery life. The reason users will feel disappointed with this battery performance is because there are other budget laptops like HP Pavilion n207TU and Sony Vaio Fit 15E that provide much better battery life.Screen and graphics
It comes with a 11.6 inch screen which is short, but good enough for a backup device. Despite being small, the screen provides a pretty good resolution of about 1366 x 768. This makes for very good viewing and enables the user to have a smooth browsing experience on this laptop. Just like laptops HP Pavilion n207TU and Aspire V5-472, this Lenovo laptop makes use of Intel HD4000 graphics.Keyboard
A minor glitch with this wonderful little device is the keyboard. As per Lenovo standards, the keyboard for this laptop is just not up to the mark. People who are used to type on touch devices will find it difficult to type using this keyboard. It requires proper pressing of alphabet keys and one can expect to miss a few alphabets, digits or symbols while typing. If only Lenovo had provided the normally great Lenovo keyboards along with this laptop, it would have made this device a perfect budget laptop.
My Verdict
This new budget laptop packs a powerful system performance and processing prowess with it's Intel i3 CPU. It has a strong body that is flexible enough to accommodate a good battery compartment without comprising on the look. The graphics and screen performance is very good for a budget laptop. Overall, this budget device ticks all the boxes in the checklist for buying a decent laptop, except for the battery life and keyboard. If those two things were handled in a better way, this Lenovo laptop could have been a great one instead of just being a good laptop. However, at a price of around Rs.35,000, this laptop is still a pretty good buy.
