OCPJP 7 Certification Success Story
I finished my OCPJP 7 Certification Successfully. When I saw my score card, it was really surprising to me. I didn't expect this score after I finished my exam. So I decided to share my own experience with OCPJP 7 Certification Exam Preparation with other Java guys. So guys here is my study path for you,
I feel like a boat sailing smoothly on the sea when I see my score report. Yes, I got 90% score and I am really happy to share my experience with all Java guys.
My company project schedules are very tight and getting time in the evening for exam preparation is tough for me. So I it took almost 9 months for my preparation. It is very difficult to cope up with latest skills without clearing certification like OCPJP 7.
I started collecting Java SE 7 free tutorials and articles related to exam topics. Then I started doing sample programs in each topics. My study guide is simple and powerful. I purchased Java SE 7 Training Labs (both OCA and OCP) from epractize labs team and I have not used any other books. The software simulator is installed on any Windows computer (this is the only restriction I found in this tool), apart from this, it is excellent for Java Certification preparation.
The great part in this tool is that advanced session with programming examples in each topics. You could also explore more on the important exam areas like try-with-resources, precise rethrow, diamond syntax, binary literals, switch for strings, JDBC, NIO.2 and patterns.
My study plan was simple:
- Started studying basic sessions from Java SE 7 OCP Training Lab and taken basic session exams.
- Started reading program samples in advanced sessions and taken advanced session exams.
- The next component in this exam simulator is Quiz Lab where mock questions are displayed in time limited mode. It really helped to improve my grasping skills.
- I taken all mock exams one by and took final exam too.
- Then I started looking focus lab to know my weak areas. This is really fantastic feature in this product where it will pinpoint your weak areas. You can directly take exam from this focus lab.
- After 7 months my score in OCP 7 Training Lab mock exams are around 77-84%.
The major areas you need to focus are generics, concurrency utilities, IO fundamentals and NIO.2, JDBC, localization, and multi-threading.
My experience with Java 7 Programmer II exam
It is true (from previous exam taker's experience) that the exam is tougher than OCAJP 7. The questions are more program-oriented than theory type questions.
My tips for OCPJP 7
- The exam requires continuous programming practice even if you have enough experience in Java programming.
- The OCP 7 Training Lab's goals and schedule tracker option is good for tracking your milestones.
- The Focus Lab is fantastic tool to know your weakness.
- You should prepare and write programs on each exam topics,compile and run.
