Fund your innovative project with Kickstarter

Have an innovative idea in your mind? Looking for someone to fund your project? Here is a platform 'Kickstarter' that helps project creators fund their projects. Read on to know more about what is kickstarter and how can you fund your project using Kickstarter.

Everyone will have a goal to be accomplished, but only a few will have innovative goals and ideas that make a change and help others. But the worst side is, such innovative ideas need huge capital to be invested. If you have one such idea, Kickstarter is for you. Yes, its a crowd funding platform where individuals and corporate companies come forward to fund the projects. Still confused? Let's find out how it works.

Kickstarter - Best invention of 2010 - TIME

Kickstarter is started in 2009 and has helped more than 55,000 creative projects come live. Since their launch, 5.5 million people on Kickstarter pledged more than $960 millions. It's really a great opportunity for getting your innovative projects funded. It's not a non profit organisation, Kickstarter collects 5% of the total fund as its fee and I think that's a reasonable amount. Kickstarter isn't directly involved in designing the projects it's just a platform and as per it's guidelines, anyone can launch a new new project.

Your project can be in any of these niches mentioned and you should consider benefiting your the fund raisers with your project once it's successful.

A project like helping the needy like those of Red Cross or starting a blog which you'd monetize or any other such ideas cannot be considered as projects and may violate the rules. Though started, I think such projects may not get the required target fund. Kictstarter goal is everything or nothing i.e. get the target fund or nothing. Half funded projects will not be found and you'll never be given funds accumulated for such projects. Let us now move on and know how to post a project on Kickstarter.

How to post a project on Kickstarter?

Let me inform you that "Project creation is currently open to creators in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand." Prior to publishing a project, you should provide all the necessary personal information for identity and information regarding your project that meets the guidelines. A project holder must be above 18 years and should have an Amazon Payments account to involve in transactions. Whats next?

You'll be directed to a page where you need to provide all the details regarding your project like title, image, location, funding goal and duration. Next, you should set the rewards that you shall give to the fund raisers after finishing the product. You'll be asked to fill the details like what reward for what pledge amount, shipping details of the rewards etc.

Also, you should post videos and presentations of the project you are about to post. Risks, challenges should also be mentioned, this ensures people that you are aware of all the challenges and they shall trust you. This ultimately draws their attention and they come forward to fund your project.

In further steps you will be asked to link your Amazon Payments account and should get your identity verified. Remember, for an Amazon Payments account you should be 18 years old and should have a SSN, US Driving licence and a US debit/credit card.

Once all the required information is provided, you can preview and submit your project and start raising funds. Once the project is posted, you can include FAQs to it. This is all and will be a simple job.

No projects? You can even fund the existing projects

Also, you can fund the existing innovative projects and can bring them to life. As said above, you'll surely be rewarded accordingly by the project holders. For example, if you contributed to a short film project, you will get a copy of that film from the project holder. Rewards also depend upon the amount you invested in the project i.e. ranging from $1 to $1000 and above.

If your project is funded, that's fine. What if your project failed to meet the guidelines or if it didn't make the target fund? Don't worry, try to present it and get approved or other similar service like selfstarter. Also, when your project went live, you will be asked questions by both backers and non backers. Kickstarter asks you to answer everyone promptly and be transparent.
