Today is the world of technology and many of us need a device that can guide us and show the shortest path to traverse along several cities in India. After all we need to save our time that is spent or wasted while travelling through the unknown and known locations in India. At times we know the exact path but we never try ourselves to find the shortest route because we feel that we would be wasting our time by switching over to an unknown route. Therefore we need a portable device that does a job of guiding and finding the shortest route to reach a specific destination as early as possible.

MapMyIndia is a company which has come forward and it has designed maps of almost every city in India. The best thing is that they carry out this mapping of routes as well as locations by following the rules of government of India. A few months back, Google India was being penalized for not following those rules and regulations in mapping of locations through Google Earth. So MapMyIndia has taken permission from the Indian government to map several routes and locations in India. In this way, they have maps as well as gadgets which are portable and they can be used without a SIM card or GPRS facility. Five such portable devices that have multiple features are mentioned below one by one.

The GPS navigation devices need to be portable not because we want to use their additional features but because the temperature inside the cars goes beyond 50 degrees when they are parked outside home or offices. So this unnecessary heat might damage the in car navigation device that has its own battery. There are some smartphones which have the GPS navigation feature but it becomes difficult to access when you get numerous calls from office, friends and family members. In this way, the MapMyIndia portable navigation devices need to be taken out if the car is parked under direct sunlight. These GPS navigation devices are named as Lx140ws, Lx340, Vx140s Premium, Zx350 and Smart Mirror and they all run on a Windows CE 6.0 operating system. The first four devices have SiRF chipset which is known for decoding even the weakest GPS signals and display the perfect guiding directions. The fifth device, Smart Mirror, has a MediaTek MT3351 CPU chip and these MediaTek chips are found in several digital devices like smartphones, digital television sets and Wi-Fi routers.

All these GPS devices have a lithium-ion battery which can be charged in car as well as from regular household power socket. These gadgets can also play the audio files with extensions like mp3 and .wma types and the video files with extensions like mp4, Xvid_avi, mpg and Divx_avi. In this way it is a perfect in-car entertainment device and as it is portable, it can be carried along to any place.
