How to transfer data from old iPad to New iPad Air using iTunes and iCloud

By this can transfer saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings to your new iPad. Things you will need:

1. Old iPad running on iOS 7 OS.
2. new iPad Air running on iOS 7 OS.
3. USB cable.
4. Latest version of iTunes installed in PC.

Transfer old iPad data to iPad Air using iTunes



1. Before starting the data transferring process, take a back up of your old iPad.

2. After the completion of the back up your next step is to turn off your old iPad and turn on your iPad Air. After that don't use your old iPad again as it will cause problems with the backups in iCloud.

3.Then you have to follow the instructions which will come on the screen of device. To proceed further you have to complete the setup assistant by selecting your language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services. When prompted, choose your Wi-Fi network.

4. After that "Restore from iTunes Backup," tap next, and enter your Apple ID and password which you have created with your old iPad.

5. In next step you have to connect your new iPad Air to iTunes. Then it will ask you to restore your iPad Air from backup or set up as new.

6. Select the backup of old device which we have saved earlier and choose Continue. It will take time, so have some patience till then.

7. After all the processes, new iPad Air which is connected to the PC will restart and after that you can use it with the old settings of your old iPad. Still you should keep your new iPad connected to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup.

Note: There is a option of syncing iTunes by which you can verify which data is synced and which is not.

8. Your next step is to enter your password for your Apple ID, email and other accounts, and voicemail again in new iPad Air. Sometime the passwords are not restored to a new device due to security reasons.

Transfer old iPad data to iPad Air using iCloud



iCloud is an amazing service which is really very useful for backing up the data of our device safely. By this you can back up your data safely if in case you loose some data due to some reason. iCloud backs up your device once a day. You can do it by yourself too.

1. From your old iPad, launch the Settings app and navigate to iCloud, then Storage & Backup and tap on Back Up now button. This may take time depending on the amount of data to be backed up.

2. You have to un-register your old iPad from Apple's website and also turn off your old iPad to avoid the conflict between old and new iPad. Now switch on your New iPad Air and register to the Apple's website.

3. Follow the instructions which will come on the screen. You can complete the setup assistant by selecting language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services.

4. "Restore from iCloud Backup," tap next, and enter your Apple ID and password.

5. Select the latest backup of your old device and tap Restore. It will take some time which depends upon the data and internet connection.

After all the processes, new iPad Air which is connected to the PC will restart and after that you can use it with the old settings of your old iPad. Still you should keep your new iPad connected to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup.
