But when it comes to moving an existing blog on Blogger to WordPress it's a different game which needs a little hard work and also money. I hope you have already a blog i.e. a freely hosted blog with no custom domain on Blogger. If you wish to move your blog, you need to have your own Domain and Hosting Plan, shared hosting is more than enough in initial stages. How to move your Blog to WordPress

After installing WordPress, move to your WordPress Dashboard and open Tools where you will find 'Import' option. Now select Blogger and let WordPress access your Google Account bu clicking Authorize button. Now you will see your Blog list if you have multiple Blogs and select the one you want to move. After importing the blog paste the following code into your WordPress directory that's resembles this 'wp-content/themes/my-theme' where 'my-theme' is the theme you use in WordPress either free or a premium theme.

Half of the work is over and now it's time to move to your Blogger Dashboard. You should now make your blog know that it is moved to WordPress by placing another piece of code in its template. Open Template and choose 'Revert to classic template option. Now open HTML template and paste the following code there.

Now everything is done and everything on your Blog will be redirected to WordPress. All your readers will be redirected to your new blog along with your comments and posts without effecting their search engine rank and health. You can check manually and make sure that no error is made in this process. Do remember replacing some fields with suitable text, for example in the first code, replace 'Your Template Name' with your own Blog Template name. Also the links in second code i.e. 'Yourblog.com' should be replaced with the domain name that you bought for new WordPress blog. Some common errors might be faced after this process i.e. blank pages, 404 errors etc. All such errors occur when you fail to upload the 1st piece of code mentioned above correctly in the directory. Also, if your permalink structure differs from Blogger to WordPress, errors might occur.Cross check them twice before you complete the entire process. Hope you got the process and feel free to respond.
