Google+ game: Bubble Island- a puzzle game review

This article is a detailed review of the Google plus game Bubble Island. Read to know what lies in this game for you and how it is different from other puzzle games on Google plus. Also know the basic tips and tricks to play this game.

Puzzle games on social networks especially Google plus find very few takers and I was also not much interested to write a review on Bubble Island in the first place for this very reason. But now after playing it I must say that Wooga's Bubble Island is a different experience altogether. The game is basically shooting down a wall of colored circles with same colored spheres while the wall is descending below. Bubble Island features match-3 gameplay where there are two basic takes. One is a weekly game where you get to play for high points within sixty seconds and the other is regular one is a story mode where it begins very easy with the wall descending very slowly but soon it picks up a superb speed giving you not more than 3 seconds to shoot.
In the story mode the colored circles are arranged in puzzle format where you have to carefully shoot the spheres in a particular manner so as to target maximum sphere. There are bonus points for causing multiple spheres to fall by eliminating the spheres holding them. You are also penalized if you use too many spheres to complete a level.

In the story mode for you to score high and finish levels you need to finish the wall by using least spheres however in the weekly time attack level the number of spheres used don't matter. All that matters is the correct combinations of spheres and how many circles you can make to fall. Both types of modes have some power-ups which help in making the game a little easy and help you to increase your score. The story mode has option to retry the level courtesy the extra lives which can be used as soon as you fail and these retry chances have a little easier levels. In the weekly mode your point and level boosts up on matching the spheres.

The colorful display is not attractive to many eyes but for kids it would be a treat because otherwise the display is very good. The display looks like a 2D animated cartoon scene. Only the wall of spheres and the little raccoon are kept focused in the scenery which is good to create concentration in the game. There are not many different images but only the wall, falling spheres and the raccoon. The raccoon reacts with expressions like gasps or staggers when the wall is too low and you are going to lose.

There is not much to complain in this simple yet impressive game. The circles do get smaller as the level increases but most probably Match-3 players will consider this a feature rather than a problem. If you still not have found any interesting puzzle game of Google plus then I suggest that you try out this at least.
