Top 10 Unknown Phones - Phones Nobody Ever Cared About!

In this article, I try to mention the features, give a review, my personal verdict about Top 10 Unknown Phones - Phones That Had Substance But Lacked the Face Value. This article contains both big and small brands. I hope you have a good read.

Do you really call yourself a technology freak? If you do, which is your favorite phone? I'm sure, with the upbeat, you too must be one of those guys who could talk all day about which one is better – the iPhone 5 or the Galaxy S4. The mobile phone industry is flooding with new mobile phones added on the racks every day. Being very frank, the variety that Samsung alone has to offer makes me wonder what would be the number of different model numbers of phones that we have today internationally. Well, this article is all about phones, yes. But with a little bit of difference! Instead of talking of the same Xperia series or debating about the S4/iPhone stuff, I wish to feature phones that are not that well known of.

Why talk about phones that nobody cares about?

Well, the first question that sprouts on itself is that why should even give a rat's ass to phones that couldn't gather much attention from people who could be potential buyers? Well, the answer is a bit off the registers. To speak of, phones actually make me go crazy. The first that I'd love to know about a guest I don't know, who has recently arrived would not be his bank balance but the phone he's carrying. And talking about phones, I guess I believe that machines too have souls in them. If you treat them with care and love them as you love your pets, they may actually care for you, without hanging or giving errors five times a day. And anyway, the internet is flooded with articles on new phones. So I thought of, how about talking of phones which couldn't gain much attention? How about make them feel a bit special, though for a different reason? I hope you're enjoying.

Top 10 Best Mobile Phones of Which People Didn't Really Care About

Without speak more of introductory stuff, I'd like to kickstart talking of phones which couldn't attract the bees.

#1 - ZTE Director: A Phone That May Not Really Attract You!

ZTE Director IndiaThe first phone that's being attacked is called ZTE Director. It's a newly launched phone (launched in April 2013) that runs on Android 4.0. Packing in a 3.5 inch screen with a screen resolution of 320x480 pixels and offering a pixel per inch density of 165 ppi, this phone didn't really have much to offer with the front look. All the phones from Samsung nearly look similar to this one. Having a 1500 mAh though was a good thing, I think the camera quality could have been increased to 5 Megapixels at least. Another possible reason why this phone couldn't make the bees swarm around itself is that it's a CDMA phone. Trying to violate the GSM users worldwide can actually prove fatal when it comes to the sales figure of any phone.

Once again (it's the third time), I have to say that when I look at this phone which is not available in India (most of the ones that'll follow are not available in India anyway) it really irritates me. Talking of Samsung, no good work have they shown with the looks, they really need good engineers and designers, it seems.

#2 - LG Envoy II: A Phone That Ain't Smart

LG Envoy II Front Picture The second phone in my list happens to be from one of those companies that have made efforts at making a name for themselves in the mobile phone industry after finding success in home appliances.

The LG Envoy II is for a change. Released just couple months back in June 2013, this clamshell mobile had a small main display of 2.2 inches. Maybe LG wanted to win hearts that love clamshell, but alas, it met failure for some unknown reason. The battery backup of the LG Envoy II was quite good, the camera being extremely averaged though (at 1.3 MP). The phone had nothing to essentially brag about. But yes, it is like pushing the F5 key on the keyboard after having a browse at the Tata Croma where all you'll find are high-end touchscreen phones.

#3 - Kyocera Hydro XTRM: A Product of Substance

Kyocera Hydro XTRM picture wallpaperThe third one comes from Kyocera and it's a bundle of extraordinary features. Follow up the main article and you'll find a long list of features that you don't really expect to be there onboard at a price of $300. Released in June 2013, again just couple months ago, this phone hasn't been able to attract customers anyway. But I must say, the presentation has been so good, maybe it turns out to be a turning point for the company on the whole.

With a 4 inch of display with 233 dpi and a pretty decent battery life, this phone has all that you need for processing and well-functioning. There's a 5 MP camera and all ordinary connectivity features. But then, that's all routine. What am I make the noise for? The phone has a sturdy build and is IP57 certified. It's water resistant (though to only 1 meters) and shock resistant. It beats out dust, humidity vibration, solar radiation and even thermal shocks on the whole. Then there's something refreshing, called the Smart Sonic Receivers about which Kyocera claims, a technology that sends out vibrations directly to the eardrums, using the body as a medium. Good product with a bad fortune.

#4 - Alcatel Venture: Touch and Type Lowers the Hype?

alcatel venture pictureThe fourth one happens to belong to a brand that actually is not that popular. Alcatel, released the Venture in March 2012. It has a 2.8 inches display and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread version. Perhaps poor display quality (143 ppi) and below level camera (2 Megapixels) has spoiled the broth. The Alcatel Venture happens to be a touch and type hybrid.

To be very frank, I had been looking forward to the trio of –
1. Touch screen
2. With a qwerty keypad
3. With Android running it

But I had no idea that my choice doesn't match with the masses.

#5 - Kyocera DuraPro: Sturdy Looks, Tight in the Jeans!

Kyocera DuraPro price in IndiaA second one from Kyocera, the DuraPro again has got a sturdy build. This one too is a water proof phone and unlike the Hydro XTRM, happens to be a clamshell model. The main screen is of 2 inches diagonal size while the external display happens to be of half the size.

Frankly, I love the looks. I have mentioned of the same on the main article as well. The looks of the phone totally got my heart, I'm in love with it. Well equipped with a 3.2 MP camera, this one too, like its sibling, has some unique features. Check out the main article for a mention of Limit Use, and in-bundle holster. But sadly, again, this phone hasn't been able to do a lot of performance in the market.

#6 - Samsung Repp: Can a Samsung Ever Be Not Popular?

Samsung ReppThe next one, precisely, the sixth one in the list is of a Samsung make. If you've been reading this article for a while now, you know that I almost hate the way Samsung has been making Android smartphones look, all alike. The Samsung Repp that was launched way back in 2011 was driven on the Android Gingerbread (if I'm not wrong). It had an average display of 3.2 inches with average dpi of 180. With multitouch and proximity sensor, it could have attracted a few potential buyers, but that happened to go otherwise.

One common thing that I've been finding among all the phones under the list is that they all have cameras with low megapixels. I think people these days are too sensitive about the camera, perhaps wanting to buy a digital camera, unknown of their actual motive. The phone has all the usual features, be it regarding multimedia or be it connectivity.

#7 - Huawei Discovery Expedition: In the Name of Adventure!

Huawei Discovery Expedition Phone price in USThe seventh one in the list, as I say, has been done in the name of adventure and carries the name of Discovery along with the name of the manufacturer. Having sturdy looks, this seems to be the third one being waterproof and dust resistant. IP57 certified, the Huawei Discovery Expedition has 2 inches TFT display with a resolution of 240x320 and 200 ppi display, this phone seems to have been built for all those who love adventure and trekking and jungles and the wild. Read the main article and you'll come to know all that it has.

#8 - Sanyo Incognito SCP-6760: Average Looks with Full QWERTY

Sanyo Incognito SCP-6760 price in IndiaThis one is from Sanyo. If you haven't heard of this name, let me tell you. Sanyo is actually a subsidiary brand of Panasonic. The phone happens to, as I have mentioned in the main article a hybrid of slider and clamshell type models. This one has a main screen size of 2.6 inches with a resolution of 320x240 and a poor ppi of 154 dpi. The display is TFT and the external one is OLED, 1.1 inches. With all usual multimedia and connectivity features, this phone had actually nothing out of the odd except a full fledged qwerty keyboard. I guess this one truly deserved to be featured here.

#9 - Mobiado 105GCB: An Old Story!

Mobiado 105GCB Phone price in IndiaThis one again is from a company unheard of. Please go through the main article and you'll come to know that this one actually didn't have any features. A 2 inch display with 2 MP camera, this GSM phone is the oldest among all the rest 9 in the list.

#10 - BLU Diesel: Just Another Candybar

BLU Diesel Phone price in IndiaAnd finally the last one is BLU Diesel. Have you heard of this company, well I haven't. I feel that this one is the most deserving candidate among all the rest hence I proudly keep it at #10. An average candybar, as the title suggests in the main article, this one has a 1.8 inches display that can do 65K colors. With poorly done VGA camera and refusal from their maker to feature it on the website, the phone with its 1000 mAh has been able to land nowhere in the market. To be frank, no other sibling of the Diesel has ever been heard, at least in my circle.

Now that we come to an end, I just hope you had a nice time going through the article.
