BLU Diesel - Features, Review, Verdict and Price: Just Another Candybar
In this article, I try to mention the features, give a review, my personal verdict about BLU DIESEL, which happens to be one of the most unknown phones on planet. It's just another candybar phone with very average features. There surely is not to show off if you consider buying the BLU Diesel Phone.
This happens to be my last candidate in the lists of highly unpopular phones in the world. This time, the victim is BLU Diesel. How many of you have heard of BLU mobiles? Well, I didn't know of it actually, but only during this pursuit of featuring some low profile phones, I got to know about BLU mobiles. Well, they have a website: BLU Mobiles and have a few phones in their shack but the phone I'm talking about today is so unpopular that even its maker denies to feature it in their website.Features of BLU Diesel
The BLU Diesel was released in the month of February of 2011. Following are its prominent features.Design of BLU Diesel Phone
The BLU Diesel was a candybar model which supported mini-Sim card back then. It came in a dimension of 107.5 x 45 x 13.3 mm (4.23 x 1.77 x 0.52 in) and was 90 grams in weight. The dimensions and the weight, according to me, is just the average, which today's candybar phones follow as well.Display of BLU Diesel Phone
The BLU Diesel Phone has a TFT screen of 1.8 inch screen size diagonally. It could display as many as 65K colors. That is again the average which is still followed by a lot of candybar phones from popular makers like Samsung and LG too.
Camera, Multimedia and Storage in BLU Diesel Phone
As far as my memory speaks of, even in 2011 we had megapixel cameras. Years back in 2007 when I had the Sony Ericsson W910, I think it had a 2 megapixel camera. But to sheer disappointment, this phone which only has a VGA camera, seems to be of no particular use. Though it can captures videos and stills too, I think that's something nobody required even in 2011, couple years ago. I don't really find it easy to fathom why BLU had decided to have that VGA camera rather than just not having it. One possible reason may be the lack of high-end display on the phone. It supported expansion of memory upto 16 GB through a microSD card slot and had an internal memory of 64 MB only. If you talk about audio, it could play a few formats and had a good speaker.Connectivity and Other Features in BLU Diesel Phone
The BLU Diesel Phone had good connectivity features, though it lacked in giving good multimedia experience. The phone had Class 10 GPRS and Class 10 EDGE. With the absence of WiFi and presence of Bluetooth (version 2.1 with A2DP), this phone had miniUSB for data sharing through computer. It had FM radio with RDS and had WAP too.Review of BLU Diesel Phone
Well, if you take my opinion, this phone is in the same league as that of the Guru series phones from Samsung. Small in size with usual features, this could be a great buy for someone who didn't want to splurge around on Android smartphones then.
Price of BLU Diesel Phone
Since this phone was not listen on the official website of it's maker, I couldn't find out the price of BLU Diesel Phone in the US. And obviously, as it was not launched in India, making a wild guess about the price of BLU Diesel Phone in India won't be justifiable. But if I'm really compelled to do so, I guess if we want to have the BLU Diesel Phone in India today and if it's available, it may cost something between 3k to 4k, and I wouldn't pay a penny more than that, trust me.
