I downloaded the trial version of WonderFox DVD Video Converter from their website and played with it for a while. Before I share my personal review of the product, let us look at the features and options.

DVD ripping is the process of removing locks from the DVDs so that you can edit, convert or copy the videos from the disk. Many times, when you purchase a DVD, it will be locked by the vendors to prevent piracy and illegal copying of the video content. In most countries, it is perfectly legal to make a backup of your purchased DVD so that you can recover it in case you lose the original DVD. But if the DVD is locked, you will not be able to make a backup. DVD ripping allows you to make backup copies of your DVDs.
The WonderFox DVD Video Converter has a built-in DVD ripping function, which allows you to remove the locks and edit or copy the videos in anyways you want. Another important feature is, it allows you to download videos various video websites like YouTube, Facebook etc. However, please note that downloading videos using tools may be against the policies of those websites. For example, it is against the policies of YouTube to download their videos except in some special cases. So, before using WonderFox DVD Video Converter to download YouTube videos, make sure you have the necessary rights to do so.Installing and using the video converter
The installer is nearly 15Mb and with my BSNL WiMax internet connection, it took about a minute to download it. Installation was very straightforward with few standard screens. A small disappointment in the installer was, it prompted if I want to create the folder to install. I would expect it to silently create the folder instead of asking for a confirmation. Other than that, the installation was smooth and quick.
At the end of the installation, the video converter was launched. The startup screen had all the basic instructions right there, making it easy to get started without referring to any help topics.
I spend a good amount of time with the video converter and tried to convert videos from few formats to various other formats. The conversion was much faster than many other video converters I have used in the past. After spending sometime with this software, I had nothing to complain. In fact, I was very impressed with the ease of use and quick video conversions.
