Untold History: Descendant of the Sun is a hidden object adventure game based on a supernatural theme. The game is about a young girl, Aarya, who spent her whole life believing that she is an orphan. But then one night, a visitor arrives and reveals that she is descendant of the Sun and thus, the rightful heir to the secret artifact which has its own historical value. She sets out to retrieve it. But, as you say 'no gain without pain', Aarya is also confronted by demons on her journey.
As Aarya, you set on the path of finding the talisman. The journey of the game is marked by many puzzles. As you proceed in the game, you get closer to the talisman. The Descendant of the Sun has a stunning concept of art with marvellous wallpapers. The desert, the lake view, the ancient temples, all the locations look gorgeous. The remarkable musical soundtrack and animations add to the mood.
Gameplay
The game's hidden-object scenes (like above) are rarely seen but when they appear, they are quite easy to complete. In a scene, there is a pile of objects that must be found. Tasks are to be completed and manipulated before finding the final artifact. You will find that items are repeated numerous times in the same scene. Yet, you will feel fresh because there is a long time gap between the puzzles.
Reactivation of hidden object scenes from the beginning is difficult as it does not go with the storyline but backtracking is possible with the help of the map that the game provides. The task markers constantly tell where you need to go next and the scenes also load at fast pace as you travel.
The level of game is not easy for all puzzles; you might encounter a complicated puzzle. For instance, if you are given a cipher which you have to unlock from the given symbols, it is not easy as you have to fiddle with the gadgets without proper instructions. For the symbols to fall in place, you are completely left to your luck.
Graphics and audio
The Descendent of Sun refreshes with its graphics & musical soundtrack and reminds you of the Alif Laila series. The game is dissatisfying if you fear the challenges of the game which are actually very easy. The voice acting is an area which lacks in presentation. The dialogue presentation is fine but the characters have to mount movement and it looks like they are rather using telepathy to communicate.
Overall, it is quite difficult to rate this game exactly. The game is a Collector's item game is therefore bit costly. The gameplay is challenging and thus engrossing but if you use the map, then proceeding in the game is a breeze. If you want to purchase this game, we would suggest waiting for a while till the prices come down.
