Earlier this year, the new Lenovo K900 was showcased at CES 2013. It was expected to be launched in India last month. However, India buyers can now get K900 on all major outlets across the country from July 2013. The phone, with solid specifications, is priced decently in the Indian market.

Features, specs, price and availability of Lenovo K900

Lenovo K900 full features, specs and price

Design and feel

The K900 has a stainless steel alloy finish at the back and sides. It has a unique body construction and elegant design. It is just 6.9 mm thick and weighs 162gms. So, the phone looks very slim and is easy to carry. Along with smooth steel finish, it also comes with different metallic back covers. We could see a micro USB slot and a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom. Along with loud speakers, you can see an Intel logo engraved at the back.

Display

This phone comes with a sizzling 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch-screen. It allows a user to watch 1080p high quality videos on the go. It has a 419 PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 2 protection. The Lenovo K900 seems to be a mini tablet, isn't it?

Operating system and processor

The smartphone runs on the latest Android version Jelly Bean 4.2.2. The new K900 is powered by a 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor under the hood. To boost performance efficiency of K900, Lenovo has used Intel Hyper-Threading technology. Definitely, it is one of the attractive features of Lenovo K900.

Memory

When it comes to memory, K900 houses 16 GB of internal storage. There is also a memory card slot and the memory can be expanded to an additional 32 GB with the help of a MicroSD card slot. I would say that with this memory, you can store a lot of videos, songs, apps and more. Lenovo K900 comes with 2 GB RAM that delivers smooth processing.

Camera

The phablet comes with a 13MP rear camera with Sony's Exmor BSI sensor, F1.8 focal length lens and a dual LED Flash. You can cage high quality photos with the rear camera. Lenovo K900 is the first smartphone to offer such a wide aperture on its camera. The camera of Lenovo K900 will surely lure its buyers. Apart from this, there is a 2-megapixels secondary camera at front. In addition to rear camera improvements, the front camera has also been widened to an 880 degrees viewing angle. The performances of both these cameras are really impressive.

Connectivity

For connectivity purpose, there are many features like 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. Lenovo K900 provides best web browsing experience. Users can access internet through various options like 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi.

Battery

Unfortunately, the new Lenovo K900 comes with a irremovable 2500 mAh battery. In terms of battery life, it can procure ample power supply but it is not removable. One important thing to note here is that Samsung Galaxy S4 was sold like hot cakes because it had a removable battery. Lenovo should have taken this point into consideration and incorporated a removable battery in Lenovo K900.

Other features

The additional features of Lenovo K900 include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, auto-focus and FM radio.

Price and availability

The new Lenovo K900 comes with a price tag of Rs. 32999. It would be on sale from July 2013. Interested buyers can avail it through 3000 retail stores across India. You can also buy it from online shopping websites. However, we haven't noticed it on any online store yet.

Conclusion

The Lenovo K900 is engineered with solid specifications and attractive features. Its highlights include 2GHz Intel dual-core processor and 13MP rear camera with dual LED Flash. As per sources, it has some problem with user interface. Other than this, there is no problem with the device. People who do not bother about irremovable battery and high price can go for it.
