Design and Hardware


The Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro has the same resemblance to the Galaxy Grand Duos, but little smaller than Grand Duos. The Grand Quattro comes with dimensions of 133.3 x 70.7 x 9.7 mm and weight of 143.9 grams. With the 9.7 mm of width, the device is pretty thick. Hence, the small hand users will have to face little difficulties, while using the phone. Like all other Galaxy series smartphones, Galaxy Grand Quattro also has a nice and sturdy build quality. The back panel of the phone is a thin plastic material like Galaxy Grand Duos and does feels cheap. A chromium strip is running along the sides of the phone, which gives the phone a beautiful look. This phone has a 4.7 inch TFT display in the front with a thin bezel on either side. On the front top side, we have sensors, earpiece and a secondary VGA camera nicely arranged and the bottom has the physical home button in the center, which is little projected from the body for easy use, along with the capacitive menu and back buttons on either side. The back side features a 5 Megapixel camera and LED flash and loudspeaker on the top side and Samsung logo at the center of the back panel. On the right side of the phone, we have the power button, volume rocker button is at the left side, and the bottom side has microUSB port with charging compatibility, while the 3.5 mm audio jack is placed on the top side. Under the back panel, you will find a 2000 mAh battery, 2 SIM card slots and a microSD card slot.

The screen 800 x 480 pixels resolution and supported by TFT technology. The device also has connectivity options like GPRS, EDGE, and A-GPS. With ChatON mobile service, which is pre-installed in the phone, you can stay connected with your friends always. The motion UI has 3 modes, which are shake and update, turn it over to mute and smart alert. By shaking the phone , you can update the settings of the phone, news feed, Facebook updates etc. And, if you want to put your phone into silence urgently, just turn it over and the phone goes in to silence immediately. The smart alert feature informs you the missed events, when you pick up the phone again.
