How to Install and Run Whatsapp Desktop Client to use on Windows PC or Mac?

It is finally possible to run Whatsapp on your desktop or laptop computer, Now you can go social with your friends without an Android device. Given below are the steps, which will guide you how to use whatsapp on your Laptop, Computer or PC

Using the bluestacks android emulator (available at www.bluestacks.com) It is finally possible to run Whatsapp on your desktop or laptop. This should come as great news to many, who have used and enjoyed this messaging app over the years. It will also open up the door to many new users who haven't jumped on the smartphone bandwagon or just haven't felt the need to use a third-party messaging service like Whatsapp.

Why Whatsapp?

Whatsapp is probably the most popular messaging app available. It allows users to create a profile and import data from other Whatsapp users that are already in your phone's contact list based on the mobile numbers. From there you can message, send media, and otherwise interact with your friends and family through this messaging service. One of the main benefits of Whatsapp is that it allows you to send SMS-like messages, saving you money if you pay per text or if you have to pay extra to text messages internationally.

Based on the app's popularity over the last few years, it goes without saying that there are a number of other benefits and useful features for sending messages with Whatsapp. Users like the wide selection of emoticons and the ability to create group chats that help families stay in touch, co-workers to share ideas, and friends to hang out. Another key feature is the ability to message GPS coordinate with other users in an interactive map; a feature that is very useful to many users. It is well known that Whatsapp is currently the definitive 3rd party messaging app. One indicator of this is that Google has reportedly made a bid to purchase the company that developed and owns it. When Google tries to acquire your app, you know that it's been a success. One of the reasons for its success is its availability on nearly all platforms (Android, iPhone, Kindle, Blackberry, for certain).

A notable omission from that list of platforms that support Whatsapp is PC and Mac. No desktop client of Whatsapp has ever been made available, but with the use of bluestacks Android-emulating software this leading mobile messaging service can now be seen on a computer screen near you.

First of All you need to download the BLUESTACKS ANDROID AMULATOR from: www.bluestacks.com

Whatsapp is now on a PC or Mac near you.

Blue Stack
After downloading and linking bluestacks with your Google Play or Android Marketplace account, the next step is to download Whatsapp app from the app marketplace. It does cost money, 99 cents for android users, but from many accounts and reviews across the web it is a meagre fee. Another thing to note is that, if you already have Whatsapp on your phone, you must use a different mobile phone number.
Step 2
I'll repeat that again because it will definitely save you some hassle to understand this clearly: to use Whatsapp on your computer you must register it with a unique mobile number that has never been used on Whatsapp before.
Installation

OK, with the app downloaded, installed, and activated it's time to start talking to your friends on their phones from your computer! But who is there to talk to?

Importing Contacts to Whatsapp?

One of the most awesome features that users consistently love about Whatsapp is that it automatically syncs its contact list to any user in your phone's contact list whose number is registered with Whatsapp. That makes connecting with friends and family who already use the service simple. But how does this work when using the app on your PC or Mac with bluestacks? Well thankfully, it isn't too much different so long as you have contacts to import from your smartphone into the bluestacks emulator. After doing this, you will find that all of your contacts who use Whatsapp are now available for messaging through the app. One drawback of Whatsapp that has been talked about a lot, is that if you don't know many people who use the service already, it can be painful to convince them to start using it. Don't worry, many will be receptive to your suggestion to try it out and it is very likely they will be pleased with the service, as most users who give it a try are. Plus with the ability to use Whatsapp on your computer, it is easier to begin using the app than ever before!

Why use Whatsapp on Mac or PC?

If you don't think you'll try Whatsapp on your Mac or PC by now, there is probably little I can do to convince you otherwise. You may or may not have enjoyed using the app anyway, maybe you don't see the benefits of ditching SMS messages for a 3rd party messaging service or you use another messaging app. But for those still on the fence or already planning on downloading the app let me give a few steps for using Whatsapp on your computer: 1. Keep in touch with those whom you need to be in touch with, no matter where they are or what they're doing. 2. Sometimes it's nice to put the phone down for a while and using Whatsapp on the computer allows you to stay in the loop with friends and family without being glued to your phone. 3. Share data with customized groups straight from your computer; this means files, links, notes, ideas and more can all be dragged and dropped right from your desktop to any or all of your friends directly on their mobile devices or on their computer, if they are as cool as you, and use Whatsapp on their PC or Mac computers.

But if there is no external graphic card on your system, then you might get an error saying bluestacks doesn't recognize your graphics card. For this problem, there are other android emulators like YouWave, Intel App Up Center etc.

I cannot get my app registered. I have tried 2 mobile numbers that have never been used with WhatsApp. Neither have passed the sms verification. Since I am using the BlueStacks Windows client (Win7) I assume that the verifications come to the PC. Do I actually need a phone to do the registering? That is not clear.

How do I register with a mobile number that hasn't been used with WhatsApp before? I have tried this with 2 different mobile numbers that I have but the verifications, I think, go to the phone, not to the desktop. So, you have to have a mobile phone with that number & have it turned on? Abit of help on exactly how to register WhatsApp with BlueStacks would be helpful
