The TD-W8961ND is a 3-in-1 device from TP-Link, a global provider in networking products. The TP-Link TD-W8961ND combines the functions of a high speed DSL modem, a 4-port Ethernet NAT router and a wireless N access point. The TD-W8961ND helps you to share high-speed internet connection through a wired as well as wireless network.
 The TP-Link TD-W8961ND is identical to the TD-W8951ND except that it has an extra antenna. The TD-W8951ND had a single antenna where as this router has double antenna. The other difference is that the TD-W8961ND operates at wireless speeds of 300 Mbps where as the TD-W8951BD operates at 150 Mbps. The 300 Mbps wireless access points perform much better than 150 Mbps routers over longer distances.
The TP-Link TD-@8961ND works as a 3-in-1 device. It combines the functions of a high speed DSL modem, a 4-port Ethernet NAT router and a wireless access point. Using a telephone line, this devices establishes a high-spd ADSL2+ internet connection. Once it is set up, the wired / wireless functions of this device can be used for sharing media between devices and to browse the internet or talk on VoIP.
The TD-W8961ND adopts MIMO technology and has two detachable antennas which provide better wireless performance, stability and coverage area. The device complies with IEEE 802.11n standards and provides wireless transmission speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
The device has four 10/100 Ethernet ports to connect wired devices. The TD-W8961ND has has SPI and NAT firewall to protect the device from attacks from internet. Unfortunately the device does not have a USB port for inserting a USB modem. So it is not possible to use the device while traveling. The TD-W8961ND does not have a battery too. It works only on 9V DC by using a power adapter.
To get started using this device, you need to just push the QSS button on the wireless router, and enter the routers PIN code in the wireless client to establish a secure wireless connection.
