Samsung has recently launched its W2017 model Android smartphone this November in China. The phone has a Flip design following the same as its predecessor W2016.  The LaunchThis November Samsung has launched its W2017 in China as a successor to the W2016 smartphone model with a similar flip design. Though Flip phones are not to be seen much often in the smartphone models, Samsung brought this Android phone that has a dual-display clamshell with a 4.20-inch touchscreen display that has an increased resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.
The DesignThe phone has the standard dimension of 127.80 x 61.40 x 15.80 as its height, width and thickness respectively, weighing around 208.00 grams, which is little bit more due to its flip design. The phone is available in two colour variants, Gold and Black.
The SoftwareSamsung has powered its W2017 with a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and a huge 4GB of RAM. The phone is capable of storing 64GB as its internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB through a microSD card. The phone has selected Android 6.0.1 as its OS. To maximize its run, it is backed up with a 2300mAh non removable battery.
The CameraThe Phone has maintained the earlier standards for its Camera zone. You get a 12-megapixel capacity in the primary camera and a 5-megapixel on the front for selfies.
ConnectivityThe model has included the connectivity options like ANT+ as stand by, with a USB 2.0 version. The Location services include GPS, Glonass and Beidou and a Micro USB. The WLAN is of 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac 2.4 + 5 GHz with direct and stand by options. It has a v4.1 Bluetooth version with A2DP, AVRCP, DI, HFP, HID, HOGP, HSP, MAP, OPP, PAN, PBAP as Bluetooth profile. The NFC is there as stand by.
SensorsThe phone has in it Acceleration sensor, fingerprint readers, air pressure sensor, gyro sensor, Hall sensor, heart rate sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor and geomagnetic sensor.
BatteryThe Battery capacity is 2,300 mAh with a Standby time of 4G TDD LTE + 2G GSM of about 64 hours. The Standby time is about 208 hours for 4G TDD LTE + 2G GSM when the screen alarm function is put off.
Round UpThe phone looks quite appealing and unique because of its rare Flip design. The Processor, huge RAM, its massive storage options, connectivity options, the sensors and the battery all unite to give the phone a more than satisfactory performance. But the camera is a bit disappointing as we all are habituated with better camera capacities within such a price range. The phone is yet to be reaching at the retail stores of India. So the Indian pricing is only to be guessed at somewhere between 20,000 Rs. To 39000.
