I am pulling out this old thread in view of sharing my views on the issue. I do not see the need to connect one's bank account to social media until unless you have an earning coming from there. If you are getting some earning from any site due to some commercial activities then they would ask you to link your bank account with them so that they can pay to you directly.
You must be careful in this regard as there are some fraudulent sites which would fool you and instead of making payment to you they will extract some money from you. Bank account is not to be shared with anyone until you are sure about the credentials of that entity and you have personal financial interests in doing that.
Knowledge is power.

While social media advertising for banks frequently entails the usage of instead than sharing data, social media offers you new information sources, new insights, and new methods to join with consumers. One of these approaches is to provide enterprise insights and treasured records in a way that helps you to construct trust.
