Share thoughts about technical careers please

I am new to the field of IT and am trying to narrow my focus and figure out what to do to build my resume. Would some of you be willing to share what you do, and what kind of recommendations you may have for me as I try to build experience and continue in this career path? I am in the US. I am interested in any information about careers in programming, computer repair and support, or any other technical field.

Thank you for your time and feedback!

    Welcome to Techulator, Beth.

Try to list the technical subject or project what you already knew and what you do, regularly.

You can slowly start to write about them one by one in your own and even can share them in this site if it is suitable (technical niche).

You can visit http://www.dotnetspider.com/ for programming related.

You can get some guidance from the senior in similar field.

    Wish you all the best.

    Regards,

    Welcome to Techulator,

You can working for a startup in the beginning. This way you can learn a lot of things in less time as you have to handle lot of work there. In an established organisation, there is less scope of learning.

If you are new in the field of IT you must equip yourself with some certificate course or diploma in the particular branch of your interest. It could be Java or Artificial intelligence or Databases or SAP/Oracle and many like that.

From your post, it appears that you have already some qualification in computer areas and now you want to go ahead in this career line. If it is so then I will suggest you to join some job whatever small in some company or small enterprise so that you can get experience. There is nothing like on the job experience.

At the same time, you can acquire additional computer knowledge in new areas which you will come to know while discharging your duty and assignments in your job.

Working and simultaneously part-time learning and then switching jobs is the only way to excel in the line of your interest.

    Knowledge is power.
