PokeMon Go - Is it still the same after an year?

Pokemon Go was one of the trending concepts back in the year gone by. Now that it has turned a year old, how does it look like now?
Though I am not a player obsessed with PokeMon, but still all of us had joined the bandwagon in making it a success. The game has changed in many aspects over the last one year. What changes have you observed in its popularity? How has it been working of late?
