I like to keep my personal life and professional life separate. I barely have any colleagues added on my Facebook account. Though TEC doesn't exactly fall within either of two categories, I don't think I like the idea of adding all active participants on TEC to my friend list.
There is a feature of adding your Facebook profile in your Techulator profile. People who are interested in joining you on Facebook and visit you on your profile and add you from there. And the vice-versa is true for you. Those who don't have their Facebook profiles added would have a reason for keeping it so. Let's no try to invade anyone's privacy and keep our Techulator acquaintances and Facebook friends separate.

A good point from your side Ankit. I too feel that the two professions should be kept separate. But meeting up on Facebook considering no Techulator relation or profession relation could be my point. But anyways, your point is still striking in my mind.

Well, I do have a few of my Techulator co members as my friends on Facebook. However, I do not think it can be a wise idea to add all the members to the list of my Facebook friends.
I would second the tip mooted by Ankit here. You can add your Facebook profile to the site. As it is visible under your Techulator profile, anyone interested can add you as a friend. In fact, I am not much active on Facebook as I consider it as a distraction. Except when it is absolutely necessary, I do not visit Facebook. Of course, I do use it to share my articles. I do check out a few profiles that really matter.

A friendly behavior is though good to work. Sending private messages could make it more better. Remember Timmappa, we had several fights on Techulator because of some sort of miss understanding that could be better explained via private messages in the local language.

A good thought, Aman - but I would prefer to differ from that view. Whatever happens on Techulator is entirely different from our personal life. Bringing up something that happened on Techulator or for that matter on any site or forum to the personal front may not be good idea. Facebook is something completely personal and I never discuss the professional things on that platform. Yes, I have Tony sir and Vandana among my friends list on Facebook, but I never discuss anything related to Techulator or Indiastudychannel with them there on Facebook. Keeping the two fronts separate will always be desirable. At least, that is what I think.

No need to close the thread right now. There is nothing wrong in posting a suggestion. Let us wait a couple of days to find if anyone else comes up with their views on this matter. Until then, I will let the thread stay open.

You can surely meet up on Facebook but I would suggest you to do this with only those who want to meet. Techulator had the feature to add the social profiles on this website profile page and I had added my social profile with Techulator. You can check for the same in the profile of those members with whom you want to meet on Facebook. If they had shared their social profile then this means that they doesn't mind to mix up personal and professional life. If they had not shared the social profiles then as above Ankit said let them enjoy their privacy.
