    Paypal Supported Debit Cards?

I just used the Kotak Debit card for the offshore transactions. The transaction was hosting fee for the year. And the paypal managed to convert the Indian rupees and charged my debit card. So it works out just fine without the use of the credit card. I wanted to use the Netcard of the kotak but thought of giving debit card a try. And it seems that feature is working just fine.

That being said, I want to know if there are other debit cards from other banks than Kotak can be used for the offshore transaction using Paypal. I have few friends who have cards of ICICI bank, SBI and IDBI bank. So they are curious to know if the other banks card are accepted in this process. I heard that failed transaction has 2$ charges from debit card.

As there is no official documentation and help page that shows specific info on this. I am asking around if anyone have used paypal with their debit card for offshore transaction.

Any idea how many banks debit card can be used for offshore transaction with Paypal?

    Thank you Nikunj.

I have one question though. Do these banks have debit card that does not work with paypal? I mean UBI and SBI don't work with paypal because they support rupay? or anything specific reason. Let me know if you know any cases where the users have found the banks not working well with paypal.

    Mahesh,
I think all Indian government banks are not supporting international transactions.
for example one of my friend want to publish APK in google play store he uses SBI debit card and Google not accepting the card of SBI then he uses my ICICI Debit card and the transaction is done with it.
ICICI is a private bank so, I think Private banks are more facilities than Government banks.
I have 2 accounts one in ICICI and other in SBI.
I love the service of ICICI back. Internet banking of ICICI is Great, After I Open an account in ICICI I don't even go to bank single time.
iMobile Application of ICICI is one of the best great online banking services

Nikunj, I have used Kotak debit card on paypal for paying US based hosting company. And the transaction went just fine. There are not issues with it. I heard that SBI seems to have issue with international transactions with debit card. And for that reason you need to get credit card from them. They are not supportive towards the remittance and the international transactions like other banks. I agree on ICICI bank. They have better service and support for remittance and international transactions.

    Yes Mahesh,
Again Kotak is a private bank and all private bank have more facility like this.
I don't know how these private banks work with the international transaction but it is a benefit for Indian user to do transactions in overseas with this type of facility without this type of banks we can't do anything, even we can't buy a single domain for our website.

True banks such as Kotak, ICICI and Yes bank are good with the international transactions. Also the support for such money transfer is very good with such banks. They are also aware of the process. They just take the purpose of the transaction and invoice if it exists. And rest they process the payments. In case of the SBI and IDBI I have found a lot of slow process and issues. I won't hold much hopes from government banks.
