All tech giants going cloud way - a good beginning?

Technology is going through another new phase. Most of technology solutions are going cloud way. Many of them are selling the software on a cloud basis, thus charging a subscription. Installing an app on your PC or laptop has been turning into a thing of the past.

What now? How do you view it from a customer point of view? Will it be beneficial to the consumer at large, or can cause a worry?
