By following steps below you can back-up Whatsapp data on your Google drive account.
    Requirement

    2. Add your Google drive account to your smartphone from Setting -> Accounts panel.

Steps to backup your Whatsapp data on Google Drive
    1. Open Settings in your Whatsapp application.
    2. Tap on Chats and Calls
    3. Open Backup chats
    4. You will find Google Drive options there, click on it and setup backup frequency.

If you want to manually backup your chat then after setting up Google drive option you will find 'Backup Now' which will help you backup your chats saved in your smartphone till that.
