    How to learn Web Development?

    Hey friends,
Being a naughty boy and not paying attention towards all the subjects in my school, now I'm thinking to find out my interests to make them my passion and career. One of them is Web Development and developing my small planet in the online solar system. I would like to get some suggestion regarding the Web Development course. Would it be better to do its course in institutes and etc or would it better to learn that from YouTube and other websites. Being Web addictive I found that there is mostly everything available on Web for learning but still it creates a confusion in my mind regarding this learning. So what would you suggest me my friends?

Rather than learning the Web development techniques on your own, I would advice you to register for a formal course. You need not opt for a high end institute like NIIT. Go for any recognised institute in your neighborhood.

Once you get the basic ideas by studying it formally, you can explore the resources available for the purpose over the Internet. That would be a better approach.

There are many institutes like Aptech which offer affordable courses in Web development.

    Aman,
I feel it is better to undergo formal training on web development at an institute. Even if it is a small one, if it has a good reputation of teaching the course, you should join up for admissions to that course. You can always opt for a short-term course of 3 or 6 months or one that is conducted only on weekends. You can find out from students who are currently doing the course there about whether they have benefited. You can just hang around outside before/after class and ask students directly for feedback. That is the best way to get a first-hand review of the course modules and faculty!

The advantage of doing a course from an institute is that you will get a physical certificate on successful completion of the course. This formal certification could well be a plus point in your C.V. when you are seeking a job. On the other hand an interviewer maybe skeptical of your qualification & skills if you simply say you did online self-learning only without formal training.

Self-learning is great to hone what you do know, but a formal course training is far better since you will not only learn to work on projects, but get a proper assessment done to check how well you learned. Online learning alone won't help you to guage your skills at web development.

Finally, it is also possible that the institute provides placement offers or a short internship stint. So go for the training.

Thanks a lot Timmappa Kamat and Vandana for you valuable suggestions. Now I am thinking to start the Web Development course in any famous institute in Delhi. And yes, they will also give me the certificate after the completion of my course. I would also like to ask the members to suggest me for the best institutes to do that course in Delhi and nearer to Bahadurgarh.

I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.

    Aman,
I suggest that you post your query about specific institutes in our Ask Expert section. You will likely get more feedback than in the forum, since fewer members visit the forum than the Ask Expert section.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion Vandana. Being a part of the Forum section from quite a long time, I forgot the Ask Expert section as I haven't even opened it from long time.
