A site Error observed in the Forum section

Note: This is not any complaint to the site, this thread is created so as we can gather here as a family and improve our best site - Techulator.

While working in the Forum section, I have observed the members getting more points than ever observed. I have found one before and created a thread on it. But so far I have not yet got any proper response to that. And this is again, that I have found one more such case in the Forum section. In my previous thread on the same topic, Timmappa Kamat mentioned that it is a site error. But this site error is again observed by me, so I would request the webmaster to look into this so as we can improve our site to the best. The link for which I am talking this time is given below. In this link, the response number: #22377 of Amit has got 10 points. I haven't observed this any time before, so this is confirmed that there is something wrong in the site.

Entered the list of top 10 all time performers

And the previous thread where I found the same case was is given below. In this thread, the same case is observed in the response number: #22245 of Anwesha with 6 points.

    Elated at reaching 10000 points

I hope the webmaster will look into this and come up with the best solutions.

I will investigate if there is a bug in the system. For now, I have manually edited the points.

I seem to have found the reason. The points change when you rate the response. Rating it as "Excellent" makes the points re a high 10. Maybe it changes based on what rating you give to the thread.
By the way, can regular members rate a response, or is it shown only to editors?
And is it a bug, or has it been designed that way?

Regular members like me can only select a response as best. There is no such option like excellent shown to us. I guess that is only designed for the editors. And if thats the case what you found Timmappa then I think that it has been designed in that way. But again a query arises here, why not those extra points adds in the contributions chart (Top Performers)?

    Tony sir,
Have the problem been solved? Or is it anything which is personally set for this? I would like to request Tony sir to please reply to this thread.

Please wait till webmasters come online and check it. They have a lot of responsibility and cannot come online to respond to each and every thread.

His reply above indicates that this issue has been brought to his attention and he will definitely come up with a solution soon. I would advice the members to have patience and stop pestering.

    Aman,
As Timmappa pointed out, the points were 10 due to the rating given by a forum editor. It is not an error and hence it is not necessary for Tony Sir to reply here.

Also, regarding your query about the points being added, it definitely is added. It may just take some time to show up in the contributors' page. Also, it does get shown in the scoreboard of the member when the member uses the recalculate feature at the Dashboard page of his account.

    Regards,
    Vandana
