    Is it right to post anonymously?

    Posting anonymously on AE section

    I am wondering why members are submitting questions anonymously. So that they can then answer their own queries and thereby get points and cash credits? Is this ethical? It is not as though you are posting some health related query that one would not want to disclose one's name. Why hide one's name for this site?

    I'm also wondering for the same issue. Even I'm thinking that why the option is there to do so as per its not even much useful. Its complete wrong to post a question in the Ask Expert section anonymously and then answer it own your own. Its like fetching cash credit and points in a wrong manner. And I would like to request to the other members to join this thread as it is a noticeable point which is actually a wrong thing. And I also request the members of the Techulator who post their content in the Ask Expert section to please not make their question anonymous. What's the use of it, What's the use to hide your identity? Feel free, brave and show your name to everyone in the questions in the Ask Expert section. I guess its of no use to fetch points and cash in a wrong manner. Its like a profession of a thief to stole money so don't be like that. You can make points and earn good with the other questions, there are many in the section. to which you can contribute. So I hope members from now will not do the same thing again.

    @Vandana ma'am
    You should say like this,

    "I am wondering why Muddassir is submitting questions anonymously. So that he can then answer his own queries and thereby get points and cash credits? Is this ethical? It is not as though he is posting some health related query that he would not want to disclose his name. Why hide your name for this site?"

    Since, according to you it is unethical to genuinely post answers on my own questions, I have removed my answers. I hope you are happy now.

    Look, the member who had been banned from posting in AE section due to the exact same tactic is saying so. Time to leave earth.

    Yeah, mistakes are the best part of my life because I learn from them and make changes if required. And I haven't suggested you to remove your answers.

    My question is, isn't there any way that the editors and webmasters come to know, who is posting anonymously?
    When it is a tech site, we can always use technology for maintaining ethics and prevent people from being tempted to take such actions that can create controversies.
    Then there would be no more blame game and bitter conversations.
    Let everybody speak up their mind.

    Why my points for the responses has been reduced to zero unnecessarily?

  • #21630
    Some people does not like to be in limelight. Therefore, they post answers and responses anonymously. Well, if we talk about cash credit and points, the concerning anonymous members gets that because the webmaster know who's who, who is the anonymous member. So, I do not think it is anything wrong submitting responses in any section, anonymously by the member of this site.

    Let us please stop discussing it here as it would lead us nowhere. The concerned member has already deleted his responses and the issue stands closed for now.
    I will close the thread for maintaining the decorum of the section.

    Fighting over anonymous response, I do not see any logic in it. I do not know what happened before my joining to this site. But you have compromised and that's good for the techculator.com
