    Member of the Week Award 2nd to 8th Mar 2015




    Hi Techians,

    We are announcing the winner of the Member of the Week Award for 2nd to 8th Mar 2015, this week award goes to Aman for an outstanding contribution.

    Congratulations to Aman for MOW award and best of luck members for the next time!.

    Congrats. Aman for the achievement.
    By the way, I would appreciate it if the contribution from the concerned member is highlighted and presented here so that it would help other members to emulate the winners. What exactly is the criteria for selection of the member of the week or member of the month awards.
    Any award of this nature should consider all round performance of a member. As such we get to understand the valued contribution of the concerned member in different sections of the site. As far as my knowledge goes, performance in a single section would not be held proper for assessment of the eligibility of the member concerned.

    I disagree with you Timmappa Kamat. Its not necessary to get points through articles to win the Member of the Week Award. It depends upon your contribution on Techulator in a specific period of time. If you get more points via other sources, than whats harm in that? You just need to focus to be on the top in the specific week to get the Member of the Week Award. You can win the awards even by a single section of TEC all you need is to contribute more and more in that and be on the top.

    I beg to differ from this argument. Awards like Member of the month and Member of the Week should be based on overall performance for the corresponding period- be it the month or week- in all sections of the site. Decision based on a single section will not be a better way to do it. For particular so tons we already have specific awards named Super Contributor Awards . I strongly feel that the performance of the members needs to be assessed for each of the section with some weightage on each section and considering the total performance of the member, the winner should be decided. Hope I have made my points clear.

    That's what I mean to say Timmappa Kamat. We can win such awards if we are on the top, doesn't matter in which section of Techulator we got those points which makes us on the top. If we wants to win such awards so we should only focus to contribute more and more, no matter in which section.

    Better we stop this discussion because it may amount to violating the site rules. We cannot question the integrity of the editors or webmasters who choose the winners. They may be having their own standards. I was only asking the editors to kindly provide us with the details of the contribution of the winner for the period. That would help us understand the kind of contribution put forth by the concerned member and also motivate us to perform better.

    Yeah we must stop now to discuss on the procedure for selecting a winner for the awards on Techulator. And I guess there is no need to ask the editors to provide us with the complete details of the contribution in a specific period of time. You can just do it by going thorough the profile of a member whose contribution you wants to know and then you need to select the specific dates for which you want to know the details and then just hit off to the enter button and the next page which you will get will display about every contribution of the member in that period of time. So that would help the new members to know about the required detail.

    Congratulations Aman for winning the Member of Week award. I think that you was very active and you was posting good quality content. According to me the criteria of Member of the Week award is based on points and the quality of the content you post on techulator.
