In reference to an old post

Since responding on old threads is against the site's policy I start a fresh thread in reference to this post.

It is nice of Aman to take on the role of a vigilante in #20551 and point out errors in another member's post. However, the suggestion given by Aman in his response is incorrect. The correct word for addressing a lady is 'Ma'am' and not 'Mam'. Ma'am is an abbreviation of the word 'madam'.

Since there is also a reference to what is 'strictly prohibited' in the above mentioned post and 'guidelines' in the subsequent post I'd like to mention that posting two consecutive posts in a thread by the member is also against the forum posting guidelines.

I was completely unaware of this fact. In fact, many people do not know the correct abbreviation of madam is ma'am not mam. Although the spelling used by me on many places is incorrect, but my intention is not. I will surely take care of this in future. Thanks for pointing out, such a little but important mistake.
As far as the consecutive post is concerned, I think a member can post two consecutive responses in a single thread. But he/she cannot post a third consecutive response in the same thread. To do do, he/she has to wait for someone else response.

I mentioned what I learnt through experience. Two consecutive responses might be allowed in certain cases. But, in the instance mentioned above the consecutive posts were created immediately/intentionally. They could have been clubbed together in one response. Editors, especially on ISC always check members who do so.

I think editors are already aware of this matter. That's why, points on his responses are not enough as far as the word/character count is concerned. With two long consecutive responses in the same thread, he got only one point in total. Editors are doing their work properly.

I have found many instances of this nature before. I guess this is done intentionally to garner more points as it nears the end of the month. As Muddassir said editors appear to have taken note of this practice and have awarded the points accordingly.
Nevertheless, it is so apt for you to have raised this violation. It would remind the members to have proper posting manners.

I wasn't knowing that it is "ma'am" and not "mam". So thanks Juana for pointing out my mistake and telling me the right word. Now I have learned the correct word to address a lady and I will pass the same information to those who don't know about this.

Also, now I will try not to post two consecutive responses in forum section. Although I didn't find this as 'strictly prohibited' in forum but I will keep this in mind.

Aman, Despite this whole exercise and you acknowledging learning something new, it's an irony that you referred to me as Juana mam, in the above post.

I don't know if it was deliberate or out of a force of habit.

I don't want to be referred to as ma'am, I'm comfortable being referred to by name.

As per you say Juana. Now I will not write your name as "Juana ma'am", I will simply write as "Juana".
