Reinstall XP fails after trying and rejecting Windows 8
After downloading 8 beta on a hard drive with XP already installed, after I decided not to keep 8, I repeatedly tried to re-install XP. All went ok until the final segment of installation. Message came: please insert disk containing SP2. At
that point a new message about a fatal error so the install can not continue.
CAUSE: Denied access to the necessary: F:\I386\asms.
PROBLEM: There is no F drive on the computer. It was a ghost that I removed a few weeks ago. My cd/dvd drive letter is E. Replacing the F series with the E series, the message just repeats that access is denied to F:(etc.) as before. I even tried changing the upper case "I" to a lower case "i." Same message.
ANY WAY I CAN FIX THIS ERROR AND DOWNLOAD XP?
