Hello Jason,
Windows 8 Beta is having IE 10 which is supposed to be the fastest one. You need to make some changes in your settings, it will work fine after rebooting:
1. First go to program files->internet explorer->click the exe->properties>details
2. Make IE the default program.
3. Try to click "set program access and computer defaults" and then select "microsoft".
