    How do I fix my laptop Touchpad which has stopped working suddenly

    My laptop touchpad had stopped working suddenly what are the likely causes of it and how do I fix it?
    When I first bought my laptop it's touchpad was working perfectly fine with all it gestures now it has suddenly stopped working. I have to use it with a mouse which is a bit of a problem.
    Could you please help me solve this problem and guide me throught the process of making it work.

  • Open your Control Panel and go to Hardware and Sound. Under Devices and Printers, click on the Mouse option. In Mouse Settings, locate Mouse Options. There will be a checkbox named 'Enable Touchpad'. Make sure it is checked if not and then see if this fixes your problem.

    If the above is not your problem, in the Mouse Properties, click on Hardware. In the lost of options, select HID-compliant mouse. If you have an extra mouse attached for troubleshooting purpose, there will be 2 such entries. Click on each one of them to see which one does not have USB in its location property. The one which does not have that, is your touchpad mouse.
    Use the Device Status button to see if the device is working properly. If it shows any error, try updating the drivers.

    If none of the above works, it is best to take it to a service center.
