  • Laptop is remaining in set up configuration screen.

Learn from our experts how to boot your Windows properly if you are stuck on the configuration screen.

I am using a Toshiba laptop with Windows-7 operating system. Recently I uninstalled some unwanted apps and files. I have not touched the system programs or such things but after this when I switched on my laptop it is coming in set up configuration screen and I have tried with F9 to save default setting and then F10 to exit it but it is again coming back to that screen mode only and not going ahead.

    Can anyone suggest a remedy?

  • By configuration screen do you mean the BIOS settings screen? In that case you need to reset the COMS. For this, remove the laptop battery, press the power on/off button for around 15 second and the plugin the battery back and see if it works.
If that not works, try doing a Factory reset of your BIOS and see if that works.
Or, it can be the simple problem of your keyboard malfunctioning and giving repeated input for opening the BIOS configuration screen.
Lastly, it can be a BIOS bug for which only the company can help you.

Configuration screen means the setup screen where various settings including admin password are set.

Anyway, There was some keyboard malfunctioning and it has been rectified. Now system is booting up in normal way.
