  • Can we file TDR for tickets booked in Tatkal on IRCTC

Want to file a TDR against a train ticket booked in Tatkal that is late by 9 hours? Our technical experts are here with the most relevant answers you need.

I recently booked one ticket in Tatkal but the status of that is late by more than 9 hours. I am going to file a TDR for it since we can do so for trains that are late more than 3 hours and we decide not to travel on it. My questions are:
    1. Can we file TDR for Tatkal tickets?
    2. When should we file TDR for Tatkal tickets?
    3. By when can I expect to get the money back?
    4. Will there be any deduction on the amount?

  • If a train is delayed for more than 3 hours and one wants to cancel the journey due to this reason then one can submit an online TDR for all type of tickets whether confirmed or wait listed or booked under tatkal scheme.

It should be filed immediately and not after the delayed departure of the train.

It takes normally to get the refund to your account in 5-7 days and sometimes it can take even a longer like 10 days.

    Knowledge is power.
