Oppo F1S Gold is the premium version of the Oppo F1S. Here are the details of this device -
Design and displayIt looks much similar to F1S. The slightly curved edges provide a premium look and comfortable handling. The fingerprint scanner is embedded within the home button. The all-metal unibody design is impressive and so is the gold trim that runs around.
The phone comes with a 5.5 inch IPS screen. You get quite rich colors and better brightness levels. The HD resolution is okay, but not much impressive enough. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. There is an additional screen protection( though I do not understand the necessity for the same).
The HardwareThe Oppo F1S is powered by MediaTek's MT6750 Octa core processor. The clock speed reads 1.5 GHz. You get 32 GB of internal storage coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Effective multitasking guaranteed with that specification. The memory expansion option is available.
CameraAs with most of the Oppo devices, camera is the USP of the smartphone. The 16 MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture is excellent with its selfie shots. The selfies come quite impressive even in low light conditions. The camera app comes with
Beautify 4.0 software. The selfies can be taken with gestures like palm gestures and voice command. The front camera is capable of HD video recording at 1080p. The 13 MP rear camera is impressive as well. The camera has an
Expert mode that lets you experiment with advanced settings.
SoftwareThe Oppo F1s Gold runs on Color OS 3.0 based on Android Lollipop 5.1. That could be one of the issues one may have with the device. When a couple of devices have already been updated to Android Nougat 7.0, we would have been happy with at least Android marshmallow 6.0. The interface resembles iOS to a greater extent. It is lag free most of the time. You have the usual Google set of apps. Other built-in apps include Theme Store, Kingsoft Office, Security Centre, File Manager, and a video player. There is an O-Cloud y-that lets you save your SMS and contacts to the Oppo Cloud.
Battery and other featuresThe 3075 mAh battery looks promising, at least on paper. Video loop tests have indicated a backup of 10 hours. The battery should be capable of offering you a backup a little over a day. There is no fast charging available, and thus it would takes quite a lot of time to fully charge the battery.
Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, GPS and FM radio. There is no NFC support though. The phone supports 4G connectivity along with VoLTE capability.
PriceOppo F1S is priced at Rs. 17990. You can buy it via online or offline modes.
