  • As far as the product page of the Asix ax88722 is concerned, Coolpad Note 3 does not appear among the list of supported devices. That would bring me to believe that Coolpad Note 3 does not support ethernet adapter.
I did search for the possibility over the different forums including Coolpad's own forums and sites, but could not find any solid information.

  • As far as my knowledge goes, Coolpad note 3 doesn't support Ethernet adapter. Various tests have been conducted with this model. But Coolpad note 3 supports only VoLTE and OTG. It might be the reason that only these features could be afforded for this model. Later they may introduce Ethernet adapter with other models of this same brand.

  • Coolpad Note 3 has type C MicroUSB 2.0 connector. This connector is not supporting the ASIX AX88772 chipset. As the coolpad note 3 has the closed source ROM. So it may not allow you to install the driver support. Even with changing ROM or reverting back to the default Android wont solve this. As the connector in use is MicroUSB 2.0 type C. And the ASIX AX88772 chipset supports Type B MicroUSB 2.0 connector. In short your smartphone has no internet support for the chipset adapter, both in terms of hardware and software.

  • There isn't any indication in the CoolpadIndia website that Coolpad Note 3 is tested with its compatibility for Ethernet Adpater. But the way these Adapters work, it implies that they should work generally with any Android Smartphones, though the Androids do not have any external indication of connection through Ethernet.
But here is a way though to test it yourself, if you have an Ethernet Adapter with you. Go for the Airplane mode, and now try to connect to the Internet through the Ethernet Adapter . If it gets connected, then it is proved that it is compatible with an Ethernet Adapter.
