  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a DUAL SIM device. The dual SIM functionality is optional. The phone requires a nano SIM for functioning. It does support 2G, 3G and 4G LTE.

All other regular connectivity features are available on the smartphone. You get WiFi connectivity and it supports the standards like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot. The Bluetooth versionon the device is the latest version v4.2.

The phone also supports GPS connectivity. You get A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS standards. The S7 Edge will offer you FM radio options out of the box. Surprisingly, the phone has microUSB port instead of the expected USB C port. Samsung has made it clear that they have continued to have the microUSB connection in order not to disturb the compatibility with Gear VR.

The S7 Edge will come with NFC and infraRed connectivity as well. Samsung Pay will make use of your NFC connectivity for functioning.

  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's hardware connectivity has some of the interesting options. It has Micro SD slot that accepts 128GB of SD Card space. It also has USB OTG using MicroUSB 2.0 connectivity. The Qi Wireless Charging Pad requires you to have a receptor for the USB port to charge itself. Apart from that it has GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth and Hotspot feature. You can also use NFC and Infra red ports of the device.

As for the network connectivity, the device currently is going to be releasing the continent specific frequency models. So you may notice the difference in between Edge and Edge Duos (dual SIM) models. It supports GSM, HSPA and LTE functionality. In terms of backwards compatibility the EDGE feature for the 2G is retained. The EU models keep the AM and FM bands whereas US and Asian models have FM only band for the device.
