  • There are many areas where browser security can be explained.

    1. Secure Connection : Almost every browser makes use of SSL certificates and connection to protect the data that it gets. So when you are signed in to bank homepage the website has SSL. So the browsers job is to encrypt the data being sent based on the value sent. For example if the SSL connection certificate value is set to 128 Bit then the data encryption works at 128 bit. Also the SSL layer itself is protected with encryption allowing user and the website to interact securely. Whereas the browsers job is to be secure provider for both client and server.

    2. Sandbox - Almost every browser offers incognito mode or private browsing mode. In this mode the security is more tight and your personal information is not logged. So the browsers job here is to not save the information that is going on within the session. Sandbox mode also stops the user from storing any malicious script on hard disk. There are some external apps like sandboxie that helps browser in this specific operation.

    3. Security features - Browser has plenty of built in security features that blocks malicious scripts from automatically executing on page. It also blocks popups and the auto installer and downloading of scripts. It can also block certain features such as location targeting and other tracking data requests.

Main role of the security feature in the browser is to protect the user data. Also the role is to protect browser and the hard drive from any malicious intrusion. Protecting user session takes the priority from browser.

  • Well, browser security is a system of providing Internet security to the Web browsers. This is done to protect the browser and the connected equipment from the intruding malware, virus and privacy attacks. Security breaches can occur in multiple ways like in the former of java scripts or camouflaged as Adobe Flash files.
A multitude features are in place to protect against such malicious software from being allowed to gain access to the system.

    Malwares
Almost all browsers have their own security features enabled by default. Every mainstream browser prevents a malicious site from being visited or opening on your system. They display a warning message. Internet Explorer does it using its SmartScreen filter while Chrome handles it by an extra security in the form of Sandboxing. However, at times browsers may not be able to identify a malware. It is advisable to use an additional anti virus and firewall solution.

    Updated browser
Keep your browsers updated to the latest version. Updates add up more security features to the application. It would be a better idea to keep your browser's updated. You can check for the latest version on your desktop client.

    Domain check
Some malicious sites use the domain that looks similar to the official address. Carefully check the exact website address before proceeding.
