Both Coolpad Note 3 and Coolpad Note 3 Lite are almost similar on most counts. There are minor differences though –
Design and Display
The display remains similar across both of them with a difference in the size. Coolpad Note 3 comes with a screen size of 5.5 inch ( which was called phablet before, but now the term has lost its significance), while the smaller variant has a 5 inch screen. From the design perspective, Note 3 Lite is same as the bigger version with a few changes to accommodate the difference in size. Positioning of ports and sensors has been altered a little, but the design language on the whole remains same. One conspicuous difference is the good frame on Note 3 Lite compared to the silver one on Note 3. The Note 3 has a smoother finish on the back while the Note 3 Lite features a matte finish. Physical dimensions of Note 3 read 151x77x9.3 mm while those on Note 3 Lite read 140.8x70.4x8.9 mm.
Both Note 3 and Note 3 Lite have MediaTek processors, but differ slightly. Note 3 is powered by MT6735 and Note 3 Lite has MT6753. The processor on Note 3 is Octa-Core one at 1.3 GHZ, that on Note 3 Lite is Quad core one at the same clock speed. Graphics are taken care on both by Mali- T720. Even the RAM remains the same at 3 GB on both variants. Storage too remains the same at 16 GB. Memory expansion capacity on those devices is different though. Note 3 supports upto 64 GB while Note 3 Lite can support upto 32 GB. Both of them support USB OTG.
This is another area the stays identical between the two devices. Both of them carry a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. This is accompanied by a 5 MP snapper on the front. All the other features and modes of camera remain the same. Both of them support HD video recording at 1080p.
That is what make these smartphones equivalent again. Both of them run on Android Lollipop 5.1. Fingerprint scanner makes an appearance on both of them. Customisation is by Coolpad's own COOL UI.
Battery and other features
Note 3 Lite carries a smaller battery at 2500 mAh, while the bigger variant Note 3 comes with 3000 mAh battery. Though Note 3 has a slightly better battery life, it does not make much of a difference in real life conditions. From the connectivity point of view, both of them offer similar feature sets.

Note 3 is priced at Rs. 8999, while Note 3 Lite carries a price tag of Rs. 6999. Both the phones are available for sale on Amazon India. It seems Coolpad has offered the device in two variants just with an aim to give options for the consumers.
