Coolpad launched the Coolpad Note 3 Lite in India on 15th December. Here are the specifications of the device.
Design and display
Coolpad Note 3 Lite is the basic low priced version of the Note 3. Most of the design parameters are almost similar to Note 3. The device has a textured rear panel. It does feel quite sturdy and durable.
The Lite version of the Coolpad Note 3 sports a 5 inch screen. You get a HD resolution of 720x1280.
Hardware
The device is powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad core processor. The clock speed of the processor reads 1.3 GHz. The 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM is the best part of the smartphone at the price point it has been launched. You get 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded further using a microSD card. You can get an additional storage space of up to 64 GB. The phone also has a finger print scanner.
Camera
Coolpad Note 3 Lite features a 13 MP rear camera. It has f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. The front camera reads 5 MP and is capable of decent selfies.
Software and connectivity
Coolpad Note 3 Lite runs on Android Lollipop 5.1. Customised by CoolUI, it has a decent interface we have observed on Dazen1 and Note 3 devices. VoLTE service will be made available soon. Android Marshmallow update will also be coming to the device, but no time frame has been suggested.
The phone has a dual SIM functionality with microSIM. It has dual 4G connectivity which means you can get 4G connectivity on both the SIMs. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and microUSB. The phone also supports USB OTG.
The phone offers accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and a compass.
Battery
The Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes equipped with 2500 mAh battery. The ratings from Coolpad indicate 10 hours of talk time and a standby time of 200 hours.
Price and availability
The phone is priced at Rs. 6999. Coolpad has tied up with Amazon for the sale. The device will be available under flash sale method. First flash sale will go on live on January, 28. Registrations for the sale have gone live on 15th January. Coolpad has tied up with HCL for after sales service.
The Coolpad Note 3 earns the distinction of being the first smartphone at this price point to have finger print scanner.
