  • Best brands of high range routers with good speed for home use

Planning to buy a high range router? Check out the expert reviews below.

My budget is Rs. 3000 (maximum) to buy a router for my home that can penetrate two walls and still must give good range (1 stick range enough). My requirements are only the best range and good speed. It would be great if you suggest TP-link and Netgear brand routers.

  • Here are some of the routers in your budget and as per your requirement.

    1. TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router

The device has more than enough range for your requirement. Also the router can be used without operating system specific installation. So if you use Mac or Linux then the device specific settings can be run without additional installation.

    Price: 1082 Rs.

    2. D-Link Dir-600M Broadband Wireless Router

Range is moderate compared to the TP-link. Requires installation using CD. You may also find that in order to use for extended range, the booster functionality is needed.

    Price: 829 Rs.

    3. Netgear WNR614 N300 Wi-Fi Router

A good alternative to most of the D-Link routers in the same price range. No need for booster as the range is more than enough for your requirement.

    Price: 1137 Rs.

    4. Netgear D500 N150 WiFi DSL Built-in ADSL2+ Modem Router

The modem has ADSL2 support so if you are Airtel broadband user and using business plan then this is handy modem for you. It has better range and support for the new high data line.

    Price: 1089 Rs.

I'd say check these models on Snapdeal or Amazon as they come up with discount and the prices much better than the local prices.

  • We have used both D-Link and Netgear, but our experience with Netgear is far better than D-Link. We had frequent signal drops and so had to restart the device every now and then. That made us switch to the Netgear, and it has been three years of continuous usage without any negative experiences of signal drop. It works fine in remote corners of the house equally, while with D-Link, it wasn't smooth for even a single day.
