The Alienware Steam Machine is already a hot topic of discussion among gaming fans after the positive feedback on the Alienware Alpha. It is likely to be launched on 10th November, 2015.
The Alienware Steam Machine operates on Steam OS and is packed with very powerful processors, namely NVIDIA GeForce GTX GPU 2GB GDDR5 graphics & and Intel Core processors. The gamepad of this product is the unique Steam Controller. It incorporates touch pads and not the traditional sticks associated with gaming consoles. There are special settings which enable you to operate the controls & buttons as per the game you are playing. Its base price is US$449. As per your requirements, you can upgrade it for a higher price. For example, you can get 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drive space for $549. For a further $100, you can have it configured with an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor instead of the base i3 processor.
If you compare the Alienware Steam Machine with the Alienware Alpha, you will realize the tech specs are pretty much the same. You get the Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and a Nvidia GPU based on GeForce 860M. The difference is in the OS, with the Alienware Alpha working on Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and the Alienware Steam Machine on Steam OS. This could be a limiting factor as then you can play a wider variety of games on the Alienware Alpha than on the Alienware Steam Machine. In terms of price, the Alienware Alpha's basic model comes for $549, something that could be detrimental with the competitive price of $399 for an Xbox One.
