  • Maruti Alto 800 IS worth buying. Its our car which my father purchased in 2004 and it is still going strong. On the first week after buying we went on an adventure trip. It drove through sands, steep hilly winding roads and gave excellent mileage. Ours is the first model from this list below. I have also included the other two variants available with their prices.

    Variants Showroom Price
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 STD Petrol, 2.57 Lakhs - 2.64 Lakhs
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 VXI Petrol, 3.31 Lakhs - 3.51 Lakhs
    Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 VXI(Airbag) Petrol, 3.38 Lakhs - 3.50 Lakhs

  • Well, I guess the best buy below 4L would be Renault Kwid. It is one of the biggest competitor to Alto 800. According to the internet sources, it is price between 2.57-3.53 lacs. Loaded with SUV like design and features, it looks great for the money.
Moreover, it is claimed to have a mileage of 25.17/kmpl and termed as India's most fuel efficient petrol car.

So far, Kwid only comes with 800cc engine and hence it has less power. So, if your friend is a travelling buddy, he might fight it a little hard.

Well, if you going for Nano definitely Kwid could be a better option. I'd prefer your friend to find out more about kwid and go for a test drive.I guess , it worth the money.

    Cheers :)
