  • How to type Pound symbol with Keyboard ??

Want to type Pound Symbol from Keyboard but do not know how to do it and also want to know how to get Rs. symbol from a keyboard? Find the step by step procedure here about how to get the Pound and Rs symbol if your keyboard is not equipped with such symbols.

    Hi,

Yesterday while writing an article, I tried to type the price of the smartphone in Pounds. But unfortunately I didn't find any pound symbol on my keyboard. I found only Dollar symbol.
Is it only in my Laptop I'm not having or its usual for all? Also after this, I also noticed that there is no Rupee symbol. So, how to add these symbols when needed ?
Is there any way to type Pound and Rupees Symbol?

  • Most of the new keyboards have the rupee symbol but the old ones don't have it. Try usingthe on screen keyboard in Windows and download the latest updates.

  • For typing pound symbol, you have to type the matter in your word document. In Mircrosoft Word 2003, go to the Menu bar and click the 'insert' tab. Click the symbol in the drop down menu. In the symbol dialogue box, find the symbol £ and click on 'Insert' tab at the bottom. The pound symbol will appear in your text. Close the dialogue box. If you do not want to do this action every time you want to type the pound symbol, click on the tab 'shortcut key' in the Symbol dialogue box after you have selected the symbol. You will be taken to a new dialogue window called 'customize keyboard'. Here your selected symbol will be displayed. The current key will be displayed if it is already assigned. You will find a cursor blinking in the text box for 'Press new short cut key'. Press some keys with combination of Alt key. After you have pressed a combination of keys, then click on the tab 'Assign' at the left hand side bottom of this dialogue box. Your new short cut key will be assigned. If there is a short cut key already assigned, it will be replaced with a new short cut key which you assign now. For ease of remembering I have used Alt+E to type the £ symbol every time I need it. I have selected 'E' to combine with Alt for the sake of remembrance since the shape of £ somewhat resembles the letter 'E'. In Microsoft Word 7, you can click on the 'Insert' menu item on the Menu Bar and the look at the extreme right where 'symbol' is written with the icon O above it. Click it to display the symbols and click on the symbol for pound £. The symbol will appear in the document at the place where you have kept your cursor in the document.
