  • Micromax has launched Unite 3 which is the successor of previous year's Micromax Unite 2. So now let's have a look at the differences between them and know what is new in Micromax Unite 3.

    Display
Display is almost same of both the smartphones and there is no differences to mention. Both have 4.7 inches of display screen and 480x800 pixels resolution.
    Difference: None

    Camera
Both of them have same front cam which is of 2 MP. But Unite 3 has 8 MP of rear cam whereas Unite 2's rear cam is of 5 MP.
Difference: Micromax Unite 3 has greater rear camera.

    Hardware
There is no difference in RAM and processor as both features 1 GB of RAM and 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor. GPU is also the same, i.e, Mali-400MP2. But this time the internal storage is more in Unite 3 which is 8 GB greater than the previous year's Unite 2 which has only 4 GB.
Difference: Only difference is in internal storage which is more in Micromax Unite 3, i.e, 8 GB.

    OS
Micromax Unite 3 has the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS whereas Unite has Android Kitkat 4.4.2 OS, although it was upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Difference: Micromax Unite 3 has the Android 5.0 OS which is latest than Unite 2's OS.

    Battery
Both smartphones have same battery capacity of 2000 mAh (removable battery).
    Difference: None.

    Sensors
Micromax Unite 2 comes with 3 sensors - Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor. But in addition to the sensors of Unite 2, Micromax Unite 3 has one more sensor, i.e, Gyroscope.
Difference: Micromax Unite 3 comes packed with 4 sensors which is one more than Unite 2.

So these were the differences between Micromax Unite 3 and Micromax Unite 2.

  • Being the successor to Unite 2, the new device Unite 3 has almost similar characteristics. They have some minor differences. Here are the comparative details of the devices -
    Display
Both devices share the same specifications in terms of display. They come with a 4.7 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 480x800. There is no difference among the two in this department.
    Camera
Unite 3 scores over its predecessor with its 8 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. Unite 2 comes with a 5 MP camera wiwith the same features. Both of them come with a 2 MP fixed focus front snapper. So, we can conclude that the Unite 3 has an improved camera.
    Hardware and Software
Both the devices are powered by 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582M quad core processor. Even the RAM is same on both of them at 1 GB. The Unite 3 excels with better storage at 8 GB compared to 4 GB on Unite 2. However, Unite 2 also comes with a 8 GB internal memory variant.
As for software, Unite 3 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Unite 2 came with Android 4.4 Kitkat, but later upgraded to Android 5.0 . So again the devices have not much of a difference.

    Other features
The Unite 2 comes with Motion Sensor and Proximity Sensor. While Unite 3 has Light Sensor, Gravity Sensor and Proximity Sensor. That is an indication of the fact that Unite 3 is an improved version of Unite 2.
Both Unite 2 and Unite 3 are powered by a battery of 2000 mAh capacity. Unite 2 is claimed to offer 190 hours of standby time while Unite 3 has been stated to be able to provide a standard standby time of 220 hours.

As can be seen from the above set of comparison, both the devices have the same set of features with the only difference in the rear camera specification.
