Lenovo has pitted it's
A7000 against the
Yu Yureka from Micromax. Given the fact that Yureka has set higher standards for the price segment, it would be interesting to compare the two competing devices.
Design -
The A7000 continues to have the same look as on A6000. The matte finish on back panel gives it a premium look. While Yureka is the most good looking device in the price range.
A7000 is a bit lighter than the Yureka. It is a bit slimmer too.
A7000: 152.6 x 76.2 x 8 mm (6.01 x 3.00 x 0.31 in) 140 g
Yu Yureka: 154.8 x 78 x 8.8 mm 155 g
So, it would be a matter of personal preferences here.
Display -
Both the the devices share the same display features. Yureka has additional benefit of having Gorilla Glass 3 protection. A7000 on the other hand has sharp color reproduction and better viewing angles. Yureka does not have better outdoor visibility.
A7000: 5.5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 720x1280 pixels (~267 ppi pixel density)
Yu Yureka: 5.5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 720x1280 pixels (~267 ppi pixel density)
Performance and Hardware -
Yureka is a clear winner in this segment. It has the best in class processor. A7000 has a octacore processor just like on Yureka which may be a plus point for it. But A7000 has lesser internal memory in comparison to Yureka. This may go against it.
A7000: 1.5 GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6752m CPU with Mali-T760MP2 GPU and 2 GB RAM
8GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB
Yu Yureka: 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 CPU with Adreno 405 GPU and 2 GB RAM
16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB
Software -
Yureka runs on Cyanogen OS which may not be easy to handle for everyone. A7000 comes with Lollipop albeit with heavy customisation. It all depends on how you can assimilate the two software variants.
A7000: Android 5.0 Lollipop with Lenovo's Vibe UI on top
Yu Yureka: Android 4.4.4 KitKat based CyanogenMod 11S
Camera -
As far as camera features are concerned Yureka offers better options. Though A7000 is not far behind, Yureka has a better placed camera to provide some best shots.
A7000: Rear 8MP camera with autofocus, LED flash
Front 5 MP
Yu Yureka: Rear 13MP camera with autofocus, LED flash
Front 5 MP
Battery -
A smartphone with an ineffective battery life would be as good as a piece of brick. A7000 has a better battery with a 16 hour back up. Yureka has a slightly lower battery capacity with just the half of that backup time.
A7000: 2900 mAh battery
Yu Yureka: 2500 mAh battery
Price -
Price wise, Yureka is better placed in the price bracket it has been brought at. The features are quite great for the price tag it carries.
